The Claude Opus 4.8 Ad Creative System

Read time: 10 minutes. Every prompt is ready to paste into Claude.

$40K in sales came from an ad that looks like a cartoon, not a nutrition brand. Nobody on the team expected it to work.

The ad was animated. Bright colours. Cartoon characters. It looked nothing like supplement marketing. It outperformed every polished creative we had running. It was one of 15 variations we produced that week using this exact system.

Here is what happened: Claude Opus 4.8 generated creative concepts I would never have briefed a human team to make. It wrote the scripts and structured scenes beat by beat. I matched each concept to a template already proven to convert inside HeyOz. HeyOz rendered the finished ads, ready to test, the same day.

This document is the full workflow. Four Claude prompts that handle every piece of creative strategy, plus the production pipeline that turns Claude's output into finished ads.

  • Claude Opus 4.8 — Generates unexpected creative concepts, writes scripts, structures scenes, and builds the testing framework.
  • HeyOz — Renders the finished ads. Takes Claude's scripts and briefs and produces static ads, UGC avatar videos, animated ads, product demos, B-roll voice-overs, carousels, and more across 11+ formats.

Two tools. Claude thinks. HeyOz ships. The creative team is optional.

Prompt 1: The Concept Generator

Most creative teams brief what they already know works. That is why most ads look the same. This prompt does the opposite. It pushes Claude to generate concepts you would never have thought to brief, including non-traditional formats (animated, illustrated, stop-motion, paper-cut, claymation) that break every category convention.

This is the prompt that produced the cartoon supplement ad.

Paste this into Claude. Fill in the brackets.

You are a senior creative director at a top performance marketing agency.

Your job is to generate ad creative concepts that break category conventions.

The best-performing ads do not look like ads. They look like content

people would watch or save even if they were not selling anything.

PRODUCT: [product name and one-line description]

CATEGORY: [e.g. supplements, skincare, SaaS, fashion]

TARGET CUSTOMER: [who they are, what they struggle with]

WHAT HAS BEEN TESTED: [describe your current ad style, or say 'starting fresh']

Generate 15 creative concepts. Each concept should feel like it belongs

to a completely different creative universe. Push beyond what this

category normally does.

For each concept, provide:

1. CONCEPT NAME (2 to 4 words)

2. THE FORMAT

- Visual style: animated, illustrated, stop-motion, live-action,

claymation, paper-cut, felt animation, product-as-character,

cinematic, documentary, meme-native, or something unexpected.

- Why this format will pattern-interrupt in this category.

3. THE STORY (3 to 5 sentences)

- What happens in the ad from start to finish.

- The emotional arc: what the viewer feels at second 3, second 15,

and second 28.

- Where the product enters and what role it plays.

4. WHY IT WORKS

- Which scroll-stopping principle does it activate?

(pattern interrupt, curiosity gap, emotional resonance,

identity signalling, social proof, fear of missing out)

- Why competitors cannot easily copy this concept.

5. RISK LEVEL: Low / Medium / High

- High-risk concepts are the ones most likely to either massively

outperform or completely miss. Include at least 5 high-risk concepts.

6. PRODUCTION MATCH

- Which AI ad tool template or format would render this?

(static ad, UGC avatar, B-roll voice-over, animated template,

product demo, carousel, meme format)

RULES:

- At least 5 concepts must use non-traditional visual styles

(animated, illustrated, claymation, paper-cut, felt, etc.).

- At least 3 concepts must feel like native content, not advertising.

- No concept should look like what this category typically runs.

- After all 15, rank them 1 to 15 by 'surprise factor':

how unexpected this concept would be in the feed for this category.

- For your top 5, write the first-frame description: exactly what the

viewer sees in the first 1 second before they decide to keep watching.

What you get back

15 ranked creative concepts spanning traditional and non-traditional formats, each with a story arc, scroll-stopping principle, risk level, and a production format match. Plus first-frame descriptions for your top 5.

Why this matters for HeyOz

Claude generates the concepts. HeyOz has the templates to render them. Animated concepts match HeyOz's animated ad templates. UGC concepts go into the avatar video format with lip sync and ElevenLabs voices. Product-as-character concepts go into product demo templates. The "production match" field in Claude's output tells you exactly which HeyOz format to open. No translation layer. No guessing.

Prompt 2: The Script Engine

Concepts without scripts are ideas, not ads. This prompt takes Claude's top concepts and writes beat-by-beat scripts ready for production. Each script is timed, structured, and formatted to paste directly into HeyOz's script fields.

Paste this into Claude.

You are a short-form ad scriptwriter. Using the creative concepts below,

write a production-ready script for each of the top 5 ranked concepts.

CREATIVE CONCEPTS:

[paste the top 5 concepts from Prompt 1]

PRODUCT: [product name]

AD LENGTH: 30 seconds

For each concept, write the script in this exact structure:

SCRIPT: [Concept Name]

FORMAT: [the visual style from the concept]

DURATION: 30 seconds

BEAT 1 (0 to 3 seconds) - HOOK

- VISUAL: What the viewer sees. One paragraph, specific enough to

render without follow-up questions.

- TEXT OVERLAY: The on-screen words (if any). Under 8 words.

- AUDIO: Voice-over line, music note, or 'none'.

- EMOTION: What the viewer feels at this moment.

BEAT 2 (3 to 8 seconds) - PROBLEM / SETUP

[same structure]

BEAT 3 (8 to 15 seconds) - TURN

[same structure]

BEAT 4 (15 to 25 seconds) - SOLUTION / PRODUCT REVEAL

[same structure]

BEAT 5 (25 to 30 seconds) - CTA

[same structure]

After each script, include:

- MUSIC DIRECTION: genre, tempo, energy.

- CAPTION STYLE: word-by-word highlight, full sentence, or animated.

- SOUND-OFF TEST: Does this ad work without audio? If not, what needs

to change?

RULES:

- Every script must work fully sound-off. The visual narrative and text

overlays carry the story alone.

- Text overlays are 2 to 6 words per beat. They read like a poem or

internal monologue, not ad copy.

- Product name appears exactly twice: once at the reveal, once at CTA.

- The product is a character in the story, not a prop dropped in at

the end.

- For animated/illustrated concepts: describe every element as if

briefing an animator who has never seen the product.

- For UGC/talking head concepts: include emotion directions in

parentheses for the avatar.

- No superlatives. No 'game-changer.' No exclamation marks.

What you get back

5 beat-by-beat scripts, each timed to the second, with visual direction, text overlays, audio notes, and emotion mapping. Every script is formatted to paste directly into HeyOz.

The HeyOz handoff

For animated/illustrated scripts, open the corresponding animated template in HeyOz and paste the visual description for each beat. For UGC scripts, choose an AI avatar, paste the voice-over text, and select a voice from ElevenLabs. For B-roll scripts, paste the script into the voice-over field and HeyOz generates matched product footage. For static concepts, take the hook beat's visual and text overlay and generate a static ad from the relevant template.

Each script is one paste away from a rendered ad.

Prompt 3: The Variation Machine

One winning concept is a lucky break. Twenty variations of a winning concept is a system. This prompt takes each script and generates variations across hooks, tones, visual styles, and lengths so you can test at the volume paid social demands.

Paste this into Claude.

You are a performance creative strategist. Using the scripts below,

generate a variation matrix for testing.

SCRIPTS:

[paste all 5 scripts from Prompt 2]

For each of the 5 scripts, generate:

A. HOOK VARIATIONS (4 per script)

Rewrite Beat 1 (0 to 3s) four different ways:

- Version 1: Lead with the pain (problem-first)

- Version 2: Lead with the outcome (benefit-first)

- Version 3: Lead with a question (curiosity-first)

- Version 4: Lead with a bold claim (proof-first)

Keep Beats 2 to 5 identical. Only the hook changes.

B. TONE VARIATIONS (3 per script)

Rewrite the full script in three tones:

- Warm and conversational (friend telling a friend)

- Direct and confident (expert stating facts)

- Raw and honest (someone being real about their experience)

C. LENGTH CUTS (2 per script)

- 15-second cut: which 2 beats to keep for a short version

- 45-second cut: add one extra beat between Turn and Reveal

for a longer version. Write the additional beat.

D. FORMAT SWAPS (2 per script)

- Take a non-traditional concept (animated, illustrated) and

rewrite it as a UGC talking-head script.

- Take a UGC concept and rewrite it as a B-roll voice-over.

- Keep the same story and hooks. Only the visual execution changes.

After the full matrix, calculate:

- Total unique ad units produced from these 5 scripts.

- Recommended Week 1 test set: which 12 variations to run first

and why.

- Kill criteria: what CTR and hold-rate thresholds to use after 3 days.

What you get back

A complete variation matrix: 20 hook variations, 15 tone variations, 10 length cuts, and 10 format swaps across 5 scripts. Plus a recommended 12-unit test set for Week 1 with kill criteria.

Production volume in HeyOz

The variation matrix maps directly to batch production in HeyOz. Hook variations are the fastest to render because only the first 3 seconds change. Tone variations use different avatar voices and energies. Format swaps use different HeyOz templates on the same script. A full Week 1 batch of 12 ad units takes about 45 minutes to render in HeyOz.

Prompt 4: The Testing Framework

Making ads is solved. Knowing which ads to scale is the actual job. This prompt builds a structured testing framework so every dollar you spend on creative testing teaches you something, and Claude tells you exactly what to do with the results.

Paste this into Claude.

You are a paid media strategist. Build a 3-week creative testing

framework using the variation matrix below.

VARIATION MATRIX:

[paste the output from Prompt 3]

PLATFORM: [Meta / TikTok / both]

WEEKLY TESTING BUDGET: [your number]

CURRENT BEST AD (if any): [describe it or say 'starting fresh']

BUILD THE FRAMEWORK:

WEEK 1: CONCEPT TESTING

- Select 1 variation from each of the 5 concepts (5 ads total).

- Pick the variation most likely to surface a signal fast.

- Add the top 3 hook variations from other concepts (8 total).

- Add 4 static ad versions of the strongest hooks (12 total).

- Equal budget per ad. Run 3 to 4 days.

- Kill anything below [platform CTR benchmark] after day 3.

- Move top 3 performers to Week 2.

WEEK 2: VARIATION TESTING

- Take the 3 winning concepts from Week 1.

- For each winner, test 3 variations: different hook, different tone,

different length (9 ads total).

- Add 3 format swaps of the #1 winner (12 total).

- Equal budget. Run 3 to 4 days.

- Output: the single best concept + hook + format + tone combination.

WEEK 3: SCALING

- Take the winning combination.

- Produce 5 final variations: same concept, minor tweaks

(different avatar, different music, different CTA phrasing).

- Increase budget 2x on the original winner.

- Run the 5 new variations at test budget alongside it.

- Monitor for fatigue signals.

After the framework, provide:

- FATIGUE SIGNALS: which metrics to watch (rising CPM, falling CTR,

declining ROAS) and at what thresholds to act.

- ITERATION RULES: when the control fatigues, which variable to change

first and in what order.

- MONTHLY RHYTHM: how to repeat this cycle every month so creative

testing becomes a system, not a project.

Present the entire framework as a calendar I can paste into a

project tracker.

What you get back

A 3-week testing calendar with exact ad counts, budget allocation, kill criteria, and scaling rules. Plus fatigue signals, iteration order, and a monthly rhythm for ongoing testing.

The Honest Time and Cost Comparison

  • Monthly cost — Traditional creative team: $11,000 to $27,000 · Claude + HeyOz: $64.99 (Claude Pro $20 + HeyOz Basic $44.99)
  • Concepts generated — Traditional creative team: 3 to 5 per cycle · Claude + HeyOz: 15 per prompt run
  • Scripts written — Traditional creative team: 3 to 5 per week · Claude + HeyOz: 5 to 15 in 10 minutes
  • Variations produced — Traditional creative team: 5 to 10 per week · Claude + HeyOz: 50+ per prompt run
  • Time from brief to shipped ad — Traditional creative team: 5 to 10 business days · Claude + HeyOz: Same day
  • Non-traditional formats tested — Traditional creative team: Rarely (too expensive to produce) · Claude + HeyOz: Always (same cost as any other format)
  • Testing velocity — Traditional creative team: 1 to 2 tests per week · Claude + HeyOz: 12+ tests per week

The $40K cartoon ad would never have been briefed by a traditional team. It was too weird. Too risky. Too far outside what supplement brands "should" look like. Claude does not have those biases. It generates the unexpected concept alongside the safe ones and lets the data pick the winner.
